The cost of mobile app development in Morocco can range from tens of thousands of dirhams to a much larger investment. The difference is not arbitrary: a simple appointment app does not have the same screens, risk or infrastructure as a marketplace with payments, location and real-time tracking.

A useful estimate starts by defining the product before counting screens. The amounts below are indicative budget ranges, not automatic prices or a binding quote.

Three common budget levels

Project typeExamplesIndicative budget
Simple MVPCatalogue, forms, content, appointmentsMAD 25,000–60,000
Connected appAccounts, API, notifications, payment, dashboardMAD 60,000–150,000
Complex productMarketplace, delivery, real time, multiple rolesFrom MAD 150,000

A well-prepared scope can reduce the budget. Complex business rules, a large administration area or numerous integrations can increase it.

What actually changes the price

  • User journeys: customer, seller, courier, administrator or internal team.
  • UI/UX design: adapting an existing system or creating a fully custom interface.
  • The backend: accounts, database, API, storage, email and notifications.
  • Integrations: payments, maps, CRM, ERP, analytics or external services.
  • Security: sensitive data, permissions, authentication and logging.
  • Delivery quality: testing, fixes, store preparation and maintenance.

Android, iOS or both?

Building two separate native apps usually requires two teams or two development cycles. For many projects, React Native shares a large part of the code across Android and iOS while preserving a near-native experience. It does not halve every cost—design, backend, testing and store-specific work remain—but it prevents substantial duplication.

The right choice depends on the features, devices and roadmap. Read my React Native versus Flutter comparison or explore Android and iOS app development in Morocco.

Costs that are often forgotten

Development is not the only expense. Allow for backend hosting, email or SMS, maps, storage, monitoring tools and payment fees where relevant. Publishing also requires developer accounts: Google Play currently charges a one-time USD 25 registration fee, while Apple Developer Program membership is USD 99 per year or the local equivalent offered by Apple.

After launch, budget for maintenance, new Android and iOS versions, error monitoring and improvements based on user behaviour. An app that is abandoned after release quickly loses reliability.

How to reduce cost without weakening the product

  1. Choose one priority problem for the first version to solve.
  2. Separate essential features from ideas that can wait.
  3. Validate journeys and wireframes before development begins.
  4. Use proven services and components when they genuinely fit.
  5. Measure real usage before funding phase two.

What a developer needs for a reliable quote

Prepare your user types, three main actions, target platforms, external services, languages, target date and approximate budget. These inputs allow a developer to propose a clear scope, milestones and deliverables instead of a vague number.
